The Fray News
This summer, The Fray are teaming up with Reverb and embarking on an eco-friendly tour to elevate fans awareness towards helping protect the environment. In a novel move, each ticket sold for this Fray tour will carry a fifty-cent "eco-tax" built into the cost. The proceeds will be donated to Reverb so they may lessen the ecological footprint made by The Fray's tour. Among the efforts made by Reverbs to achieve this include enabling biodiesel to power some of The Fray's tour buses, and setting up recycling bins at the shows. In addition, Reverb will provide various forms of renewable energy to neutralize effects from non-renewable energy used at venues. Other non-profit organizations also plan to erect booths at venues to provide fans with guidance and education about the way towards a healthier and chemical-free sustainable system. The Fray's platinum-selling album, "How to Save a Life", has a title track in the form of a song inspired by singer Isaac Slade's selfless mentorship of a crack-addicted teen, if the band's bio is to be believed.
"I was a sheltered suburban kid when I met this guy," Slade said. "He was a recovering addict, coming out of a really tough teenage life. Thankfully, he was on his way out of that life, so he was able to really look back with some objectivity. The song is more of a memoir about his slow-motion descent and all the relationships he lost along the way.
"It is the easiest one for me to sing every night," he continued. "I constantly get emails from people who relate to it."
Anybody who is even vaguely familiar with The Fray will recognize this song whenever they hear it, its howling poignancy loaded with the frustration and angst. It's now The Fray's turn to try to help the environment, and hopefully they'll soon be writing songs about this state of affairs too. The attitude of The Fray inspires others to go along to see for themselves, and it expected that The Fray tickets for their 2007 tour will be in high demand. Hurry out to grab you're the Fray tickets before they're all extinct, if you want to make it to one of these special gigs this year.
