Some speculate that Chesney's songs have their roots in Jimmy Buffett and John Mellencamp's music, he is a country music entertainer at heart. Playing more traditional country songs at many of his shows, he was awarded the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year in both 2004 and 2006. He also reached the 25 million mark with his album sales in 2006, and is now headed out on his 2007 Flip Flop Summer Tour.

Chesney was in the spotlight for an impromptu marriage to Renee Zellewegar in 2005, which was annulled only four months later for reasons cited as "fraud." His 1997 hit "She's Got It All" made it to No. 1 on the US Country Charts, as did "You Had Me From Hello" and "How Forever Feels" in 1999. In 2001 "Don't Happen Twice" made it to No. 1, followed by "The Good Stuff" in 2002, and "There Goes My Life" in 2003. "Anything But Mine," "Living in Fast Forward," and "Summertime" also saw the top of the charts in 2005 and 2006.

Kenny Chesney Concert News

Kenny Chesney has finally revealed the schedule for the 2007 Cruzan Rum-sponsored Flip Flop Summer tour, saying that the giant schedule may yet be altered or added to. It is difficult to believe the hit-making country star could actually add dates to this monster schedule, but always say you never know. Tour dates will be supported by Sugarland and Pat Green, and for certain dates Chesney will bring multi-award-winning country duo Brooks & Dunn to the stage. The duo is responsible for numerous No. 1 hits, as well as hosting the CMA Awards in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2006, Brooks and Dunne swept the CMA Awards for song and single of the year with "Believe", as well as being vocal duo category winners. Dunn's co-writing of "Believe," won him first place over all CMA winners to date. Amazingly, creative partner Brooks takes second spot, together with legend Vince Gill.

Chesney's single, "Beer in Mexico" presently scaling the heights of the country music charts, won't allow the hard-working artist to sit on his laurels. In fact, Chesney is rarin' to hit the trail, saying, "It's still a little bit crazy to me, but I know I can't wait to get out there ... start rocking the parking lots when we can and hitting the stage as hard as possible. It's gonna be a good summer."

The multi-stadium monumental voyage takes in over 50 cities, with the opener scheduled for April 12 in Omaha, Nebraska. The run is expected to continue until September, but Tennessee-born Chesney warns against fans being presumptuous without checking official sources. "It seems like every year there are leaks ... and questions ... and things that someone heard from someone who knew someone, which is fine," Chesney stated on his official website, "except it's hard to tell who really knows, and I don't want my fans thinking I was coming to their town, when it was never on the list of cities we were talking to."

The tour dates unveiled by the Chesney camp include planned dates in Minnesota, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Ohio, Florida, New York, Utah, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Wisconsin, Kansas, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, Montana, and Illinois.
