Keith Urban is an Australian country singer, who received Top New Male Vocalist of the year in 2001 after debuting on the music scene in 2000.

By 1992 Keith had headed to Nashville, and became the front man for the group The Ranch, whose solo release in 1997 was well received. However Keith left to pursue his solo career again. After some tough times with cocaine usage, he entered a rehab center and by 2000 had released a self-titled album which gained him three top five hits. He is known for his guitar skills, having played on albums for Garth Brooks, the Dixie Chicks and Paul Brandt.
In 2002 the release of Golden Road kicked his career into the mainstream, when the song "Somebody Like You" staying at No. 1 longer than any other country artist for the year. In 2005 he was given the CMA Entertainer of the Year award. Setting records again, his song "Once in a Lifetime" debuted at No. 17, which was the highest debut for any country song on the Billboard charts ever. Australian Country star Keith Urban's legions of fans have been waiting for him to revisit the stage, and finally it is happening. The schedule for Urban's forthcoming global trek is growing almost daily, with more than a dozen additional dates swelling the list to giant proportions. Arriving in North America Friday, June 8th when the tour hits Phoenix, Arizona's US Airways Center, Urban will have already spent several months this spring traveling the UK, Germany and Australia.
"I'm looking forward to getting back on the road, to reconnecting with everyone and to doing what it is that I love to do," an energized Urban said in a press release. "To finally be able to present the songs from 'Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing' live, is something that I've been looking forward to doing since recording the album."
The American leg, a 33-city, 36-performance tour, showcases Urban's trademark high quality musicianship, combined with the customary excellence of his sound team. The charismatic Aussie will be performing the favorites from his recent multi-platinum release, "Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing," as well as many of the chart-toppers which have spangled through his country career.
In literally no time Urban has achieved a glittering 7 chart-topping singles, as well as 12 Top 5's, but his award-winning habits don't stop there. Along with numerous accolades and acknowledgements from all corners of the music industry, Urban was the 2005 Country Music Association (CMA) Entertainer of the Year, while simultaneously voted the CMA and Academy of Country Music (ACM) Male Vocalist of the Year.
"Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing," is Urban's fourth studio album, released in November 2006. There has been a delay between the album's release and the much-awaited tour, due to the artist's seeking rehabilitation for alcohol addiction. Despite the delay, the album went to No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart and produced two huge hits, "Stupid Boy" and the Grammy-nominated "Once in a Lifetime." Urban has added four new California dates to the tour, as well as other dates in Georgia, Texas, Illinois, DC, Virginia, Utah, and Wisconsin. Tickets are available now.
